What's in Bondi Nood

Every element of the Bondi Nood anti-odorant has a purpose: whether it's there to exfoliate, moisturise, hydrate or odourise your pits, we’ve got you covered! We created Bondi Nood for our busy friends who don’t want to compromise on what they are putting on their bodies. We have nothing to hide, you can read about all our ingredients below.

Our ingredients:

Organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic arrowroot powder, sodium bicarbonate, kaolin clay, candelilla wax, essential oil blend.

Benefits of our ingredients:

Arrowroot powder: More than just a plant-based thickening agent - arrowroot powder also reduces odours, moisturises the skin and helps to eliminate toxins from your body, while promoting natural healing.

Candelilla wax: Candelilla wax is a plant based wax and a suitable vegan alternative to beeswax. Although it makes an excellent DIY skincare ingredient, in its own right it acts as a stabiliser and emulsifier. It is skin conditioning, easily absorbed, odourless, and rich in nutrients.

Coconut oil: Also known as cocos nucifera oil, and we can’t get enough of it as it’s packed with rich fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin E, which means it’s anti-inflammatory and helps repair your skin.

Essential oils: Essential oils don’t only smell good, but also have healing benefits and are proven to alter state of mind.

Kaolin clay: As a 100% natural mineral product, kaolin clay purifies, detoxifies and cleanses the skin. It also calms the irritated or inflamed areas, which is a great benefit after shaving your pits.

Shea butter: Also known as butyrospermum parkii butter, a great moisturiser that holds antioxidants and packed with vitamin A, E and F.

Sodium bicarbonate: Also known as baking soda, found in cakes and cookies, it’s a natural and safe mineral that helps neutralise odour-causing bacteria.

You probably gathered by now that we want to say a big fat NO to all toxins. We want you to get closer to your body by applying our 100% natural anti-odorants with your very own finger. That’s right, if you’re afraid to touch something with your bare hands, would you leave it on your pits for the whole day? We promise to keep away from all chemicals, and only keep the good nutrients in your jars - and you can see below why.

The Nood promise:

Aluminium-free: Aluminium is an active ingredient in antiperspirants because of its ability to reduce the production of sweat. There are two main health issues usually cited when talking about aluminium in deodorant: Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer. Although not proven in medical studies, why take your chances? We are firmly on the side of ‘better safe than sorry’. So, while there aren’t any definitive studies on the adverse effects of aluminium, we've chosen not to include it in our natural anti-odorant, so you can feel good and smell good always!

Paraben-free: Parabens are believed to disrupt hormone function by mimicking oestrogen. Too much oestrogen can trigger an increase in breast cell division and growth of tumours, which is why paraben use has been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.

We also noticed that most of the natural deodorant brands use plastic to store their products in. We don’t only want to make a positive change in the self-hygiene world by increasing the quality of products we put on our body, but also to help our water-based friends live in their clean environment.

We believe if you talk the talk, then you have to walk the walk. That’s why Bondi Nood’s 100% natural anti-odorant comes in a glass jar, which makes it fully zero-waste, plastic-free and even better, reusable. We have a few ideas how you can re-use your jar and the most exciting part is that we’re already working on a refill station for you all! Our overall aim is to minimise plastic waste and maximise personal and social wellbeing.

What Nood comes with:

Glass jar: We chose glass jars to store our anti-odorants in, as they don’t need additives to preserve the contents inside them and they are neutral in regards to smells or tastes. In other words, they protect the quality of our anti-odorant and this helps to maintain the temperature really well. Glass jars can be reused as they are easy to wash and sterilise. They are 100% recyclable, and don’t lose any of their natural properties during the recycling process which in turn, is very beneficial to the environment. By recycling one of our glass jars, you’ll enable the manufacture of a new one without any loss of quality.

Labelling: Our labels are 100% biodegradable printed on FSC certified papers, using vegetable-based inks. The base liquid for this ink is made from a variety of vegetable oils such as corn, walnut, coconut, linseed, canola and soybean. Unlike petroleum-based ink, the vegetable-based oils are a renewable resource and do not require harsh solvents for press cleaning.

Packaging: We use 100% recyclable cardboard boxes as well as 100% recyclable and biodegradable kraft tissue papers and tapes to keep your anti-odorant and our environment safe. All our packaging materials are 100% plastic-free and made using responsible forestry practices to reduce waste.
